I am trying to learn the codes for this device, but every learn power etc button gives me this Gap 500-1483-16 or Gap 500-3477-37 and there are about 3 or more decoder signals in my learned window in IR. Please can someone help me to get past this?
Many thanks.

I haven't seen that protocol before. It has an unusual structure and I can't figure it out from one signal (I'm assuming the six signals you posted are six attempts at learning the same signal).
The learns on Power and '1' are prefectly good learns. The others, not so good.
Some of the bad learns look like what you might get from battery problems in the Samsung remote. While the first to look like good learns of a strange signal, there is a small chance they are bad learns of an ordinary signal, caused by battery problems in Samsung remote.
I think you should try again with new batteries, just to be sure.
Assuming that doesn't help, you should post a new .ir file with learns of several different original signals. Does the original remote have digit keys? When figuring out a new protocol, having a few original digit keys can help sort out some of the trickier details. |

Thanks for your help Johnsfine. The batteries were brand new but I did replace them after you said just to be sure and the learns are the same.
I have uploaded a new file with power and numeric buttons so any new suggestions absolutely welcomed please.
Thanks |

Are you sure?
Now it seems to have just two different signals: '1' and '2' are the new signal, but the same as each other. '3' through '6' seem to be the same various learns of power that they were before.
I'm not sure I have time for figuring out a new protocol anyway. Hopefully someone else will jump in. But anyway, I can't do much with so few different signals. |

I'm very, very sorry. I misunderstood what you were asking for. I have posted a new file with a selection of different signals now. If you do get chance to have one more look please.
And when you said digit keys, what do you mean?
Thanks |

The digit keys are the ones with the following values:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,0
Whenever there's a remote like this that appears to have a new protocol, what we're looking for is an IR file that has as many DIFFERENT buttons learned as possible, preferably with the original buttons learned to their logical counterpart on the JP1 remote (ie, POWER learned to POWER, etc) and even better, we'd like to see the ALL the numeric buttons learned (again, each to their logical counterpart). Learn as many buttons as you can until the learning memory runs out.
We also really need good learns. So, once you've learned the signals, take a look at them in the Learned Signals panel in IR to see if any of them look radically different to the others. If you find one that looks bad, try re-learning it.
When we break down a new protocol into it's binary components, we then have to look for patterns, which is impossible with just one sample. _________________ Rob

OK, here's the format of the signal...
freq= 38kHz
leadin: +4500 -4500
mid-burst: +500 -4500
leadout: +500 -61000
ONE: +500 -1500
ZERO: +500 -500
style: LSB
format:
2 8-bit device code bytes (values 32 and 0)
mid-burst pair
1 4-bit unit code (???) (value 0)
1 8-bit command code (OBC)
1 8-bit complement of command code
Here are the OBCs for the buttons that you learned...
070 TV/Vid
128 0
129 1
130 2
131 3
145 Power
145 4 *
145 5 *
145 6 *
149 Enter
151 Up
152 Down
153 Right
154 Left
155 Select
* the 4,5 & 6 buttons appear to be re-learns of the POWER button, rather than learns of the 4,5 & 6 buttons _________________ Rob

Thanks Robman. I had just posted 2 new files with all the button learns then came back in here to see you have been working for me. Will try them and post back here later.
Many thanks

Unfortunately, you loaded a RAR file which I can't open. Please either create a ZIP file, or load them seperately.
Ube_Astard wrote: | PS, Robman, that KM file link is to the files I posted in diagnosis? Think you meant to do this, you busy person. Thanks again |
You know what happened, you loaded your file at exactly the same time that I loaded my file, so when I went back to grab the URL of the most recently loaded file, I got yours.

Just to eliminate the possibility of user error, try this IR file where the code is already loaded to the DVD button.

I'm a bit embarassed here because of user error. That IR file worked, and its because I forgot to paste the protocols accross before. Dumbass me.
Thanks again.
Anyway, I have uploaded zip files to diagnosis, but if you dont get chance to look at it I might be able to work on the other buttons with the help you have already given me.
Many thanks Robman. |

I'm starting to look at them now. As you didn't include any notes in the IR file to say what the functions are, could you please list which functions are which (other than the ones learned to the corresponding buttons). _________________ Rob

Here's the OBCs that I was able to get from those files. (The CH+ button in the 1st file was too bad of a learn to decipher)
OBC Function (which file it came from)

Ok Robman, I have uploaded new files with notes and a new CHANNEL +/-IR as the channel function you gave me doesnt work.
Also in file 3 I have included a new function at M1 that I had missed before. And I also had a go at adding the new functions to your upgrade file.
Thanks for looking at it for me.
BTW where can I get KM 8.4? |
