I was trying to find advance codes for a tivo remote that I have. I started with the up,down left right arrow. I checked the leared codes and noticed 2 codes were the same for the efc- both were 118. how can that be? I thought if I learned a code I could use it in keymaster as that function but if 2 codes are the same that cant be correct. thanks for the info, Doug

Sometimes I learn the wrong key the first time, then learn the correct
key the second time, but the 2nd learn was not successful and I didn't
notice.

What was the Protocol name and device number, and was the duplicate EFC really 118 or was it 181?

If it decodes totally wrong for some reason, giving an inappropriate protocol name and device number, it's quite common for the EFC to be 181, so it wouldn't be surprising if misdecodes of two different signals both had EFC 181.

But if the protocol name and device number were reasonable or if the EFC were 118, I don't think they're wrong decodes. I think you accidentally learned the same key twice.

The EFCs for up, down, left, right are 116, 118, 122, 120

Is it also possible that you misread the 116 code for 118?

I know I didnt read the wrong code- I will try it again tonight but I might have - like you said, coded the same button 2 times. Its funny, you blame everything else but yourself. I'll try it again- thanks, Doug
