Com'on Nils, make up your mind. You gonna open a worm farm business, or become an entomologist? Wink

Have you found a new use for your Kameleon? Very Happy I have a mental picture of a sticky, crusty, nasty remote control Exclamation Have you considered professional help? Mr. Green

Ah, yes!! Another reason to love the Kamey. The smooth touch-membrane wipes off with a damp cloth!! Wink

OK, I received the 9960 from Rob on Saturday. I loaded the pre-alpha version of the extender and it lasted about 9 key presses. This I expected since I have not figured out all the ROM calls but it actually did better than expected. Atleast it loaded.

Anyway, here is a tease. Unless you already figured out how to control the backlight timer you can add this line to the end of the [SETTINGS] section of the RDF in the RDF ZIP V 1.10
    Backlight timer=$023.7.8.0.0
Then in IR on the setup panel scroll down to where you see this setting and change the value to whatever you like. 1 = approximately 7 seconds 3 = approximately 20 seconds. I can guarenty you that FF will kill the batteries overnight.

Just a quick update to let you folks know I am working on the extender and have made good progress. I actually have it running in test and processing buttons and HT functions.

Having a problem with macro's and close to getting the screen selection working but can't finish that until I resolve the macro problem. I have asked some of the experts to take a look at my code just incase I am missing something obvious but it looks promising at this time.

Shameless bump to express my interest in such a thing, as well as to get an update on your progress.

I will be useless in helping you code, but if you need any help with bug testing or something, drop me a line.

Best of luck!

I just got back from vacation but am real close to releasing a beta version. Should be within a day or so.

How exciting =)

Where did you learn how to code for this sort of thing?

You couldn't have picked a better time for me, I am just finishing up all the wiring on my setup.

Hope you had a great vacation!

I don't know how to explain how I learned to "code for something like this" but basically I have been some form of programer for many years (more than I care to remember). Converting large systems assembler language to a remote is similar. The real work in doing this was done by the experts on this board and it is just a matter of following their lead.

Hope you try the beta I just posted so I can fix any problems quickly.

Thanks, it was great. From Christmas day until yeaterday I was on the road visiting family in NY and NJ, Florida for Disney and a friend of mines daughters wedding etc. Did some coding on the plane then fixed it when I got home Laughing

One thing I found out on vacation is that it is hard to keep up with this forum on a Blackberry. Only got to post once and that was a job in that little web window..

Awesome! I just loaded it up. Now to see what this baby can do =)

I'll post back with my results!

If I find any bugs, do you want them posted here, or emailed to you directly?

Posted here would be fine so no one has to double post if they find the same problem.

Actually, you can put the posts on the announcement thread.
