how to put 0775 on Address 2 on a URC 6800?

Hi,
I used IR to load up my URC 6800.
I am wondering how do I tell this remote to emulate a dish remote on address 2? If it's even possible.
Thanks

When you open your upgrade file in KM or RM, on the setup page, there is a setting for "unit code" (KM) or "remote address" (RM). You enter your desired remote address there.
Make sure you read the protocol help about the relationship between remote address and unit code. It's confusing to me, but for address 2, I believe you will want to insert the number "1" in those fields (but even if it's "2", it only takes a few moments to test and figure it out which is correct)

In KM, unit code = remote address. In the signal itself, the real unit code is one less than the remote address, but KM compensates for that, so if you enter unit code 2, you will get remote address 2 (which means that the signal itself will contain unit code 1).

Thanks Guys,
OK, so I downloaded this file
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1045
and loaded it into KM, edited the Unit Code, changed the remote to URC 6800 and copied this new device to IR and uploaded it to the 6800.
I have tried unit codes 1,2,3,4,5,6 to no avail...
I have also tried switching the button code to OBC.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I may be wrong but I think your remote needs the protocol upgrade even though km does not show that it does. Try adding the protocol.
Upgrade protocol 0 = 00 02 (S3C80) Dish Network (KM v8.38)
2b 5c 51 8b 14 b6 59 05 06 00 c5 03 32 00 c5 05
73 0b f2 00 c5 0b f2 05 02 08 03 37 00 0c e6 22
02 e6 0e 43 e6 0f 8b f6 01 42 18 08 56 c1 03 87
21 04 29 04 8d 01 33
End

Hi,
I'm wondering where you got this protocol. Like you said, KM doesn't show it.
I'll give it a try tomorrow night.
Best Regards

Hi reapur
I don't remember where I got it. It is in a text file I have for the upgrade noted. It must be from when I didn't keep notes very well. It may not even work. Is worth a try though as it can do no harm.

RM shows the protocol upgrade as required.

Hey, I don't know much about JP1 yet, but UEI has codes for address 2 and 3:
SAT 1170 and SAT 1171.
Maybe that gets you going

When I open KM 8.33 or RM 1.47 I don't see any settings like those. Could you mean the Protocol parameters: Main device, sub device or parameter?

Did you load that upgrade file into KM or RM before looking?

You either have to load the upgrade file first, or select one of the Dish protocols. Then you clearly see (in KM) a
Unit Code field.

Ok, got it. Carry on! :^)
I was following the thread and no I did not initially load the file. I now see that selecting the Dish protocol also displays those device options. Just being nosey. Thanks!
