Defining a Button to Toggle between Two Macros

Is there some way to define a button to be macro, M1, every other push and another macro, M2, otherwise?
In particular, I have a TV where video input is, simply, the first channel, L1. So I'd like to define TV/VID to be 1,CH- when the channel is not on L1, and 2 otherwise. Toggling is as close as I can believe is possible.
Thank -- Vincent

Sounds like a candidate for a ToadTog

It sounds like you trying to implement a method you think is the best way to achieve a particular goal. I'd like to understand the goal itself, rather than the method you believe is the solution.
IIUC, you want your TV/Vid button to behave like a toggle between the video input on your TV and the tuner, correct?
And you do not have such a TV/VID function in the TV's remote, the only way you get into video input is by executing a "Ch-" from channel1? Is that correct, too?
Are you certain that there is no discrete "video" input function? Would you WANT a discrete video input function? What setup code or upgrade are you using for this TV (upload and.or link please) - perhaps someone can find the function you lack, or suggest another way around this situation.
Further, depending upon the rest of your IR setup perhaps you should consider using the device buttons as power on-system setup macros to include your input selections (you may need an extender for this, depending on your JP1 remote), so that when you select DVD or VCR, the macro already includes the "TV","1","CH-" sequence, while when you select TV, it would include a "TV", "1" sequence only. If you could upload your IR file, too, and someone may have a suggestion.
The only way I would imagine you could do specifically what you have asked, is by using the ToadTog protocol (requiring the extender anyway).
