Atlas 5 PVR/DVR ir.exe communication issues

I have an Atlas 5 PVR/DVR URC-1054. It has the "settings" rocker to the left of the navigation buttons and the connector has a JP1 label. I am using the latest versions of the software and I have tried the parallel and USB cables (they work great with my URC-8811).

I am able to "Download From Remote" using ir.exe. It displays the codes that i have programmed, using the remote, for the TV, DVD, CBL, etc. However, when I try to "Upload To Remote", using the data that was just downloaded, I get the following error:

The remote is not acknowledging data requests. (ErrNo=6, Addr=474, Size=1574, Count=6).

Each time I try to upload, i get different Addr, Size, and Count values:
496, 1552, 6
420, 1628, 4
576, 1472, 6

I have tried it using batteries (not sure how used up they are), without batteries, and with one battery flipped. I will have to try it with some fresh batteries when I get some.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As it turns out, it wasn't the batteries or the remote. Rebooting solved the problem. Damn windows machine.
