|
Am playing with a new 8810, and I was busy mapping my TiVo functions onto it.
I'd set Replay to the REW key, and Advance to the FWD key--seems reasonable enough. The 8810 has F-FWD and F-REW keys that can appropriately take those TiVo functions.
Unfortunately, the Enter key on the 8810 is right above the REW key. This means that, when viewing live TV, when you want to go back 8 seconds for a Replay, you run a real risk (as I discovered to my misfortune) of hitting the Enter key by mistake.
If you have assigned the default Enter/Jump TiVo function to that key (also seems reasonable), you end up switching channels and losing your cache. Oops!
I'm using an upgrade. I haven't played with the default 0636 keymap yet. Maybe I will, soon. In the meantime, I think I'm going to reassign the Enter key, as Prev has the same function anyhow. |

Personally, I think you should put REWIND and FAST FWD on the proper keys, and put REPLAY and ADVANCE on the F.REW and F.FWD buttons.

Nice idea! It hadn't occurred to me. Thanks for the suggestion.
Heading off to RemoteMaster right now... |
