Onkyo HT-R530 (HT-S780) On and Standby mapped to Power

I just purchased the Onkyo HT-S780 HTIB which has an Onkyo HT-R530 receiver. I've had an OFA URC-9960 for about two years now and love it. I can't figure out how to make the power on and standby work with it though. Specifically, the remote that comes with the receiver has a separate On button and Standby button.

When I use device code 0135 it maps "On" to the power button on the URC-9960. Pressing power turns the receiver on, but not off. I wrote to OFA and they wrote back telling me how to program an advanced code and told me to set the device code to 0842, program the advanced code of 426 (Standby) to a device key and then switch my device code back to 0135 since this provides the majority of the functions I need.

What I can't figure out, however, is how to make the "Master Power Macro in Home Theater Mode" work. When you configure this you create a macro that has you select a device, press power, choose another device, press power, etc. for all the devices you want to turn on and off. In my case this is my TV, Cable Box and Receiver.

Am I missing something? I can't figure out how to make this work.

I spent a couple hours looking around on this forum, but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Any help is appreciated.

Your talking about programing the macro without jp1 right? If so the instructions for doing it should be in the manual somewhere.

The power macro are only for commands mapped to the power keys, and only preset commands, no advanced codes.

I have read the instructions and didn't see a way to do what I wanted to do using the built in capabilities. My question was two fold:

1) Has anyone run into this same problem and figured out how to do it?

2) If not, does anyone know if this can be accomplished via the JP1 interface.

It sounds like I can't do what I want based on the last post, so I may need to just create an "All On" macro and map it to Macro 1 and an "All Off" macro and map it to Macro 2.

Thanks,
McP
