Thanks for all the wonderful reading and how to's. I'm just about there! I got the coolsat upgrade.txt, converted it to bin in RM, exported it to SVAB folder in Slingbox, but can't figure out how to edit SVAB.cfg so that I can see the bin I created as a choice when in slingbox setup. Sling box is 2.1 PL. I have the RDF PL pasted in the slingbox SVAB folder and executed it. So close.............................. any ideas to help me finish this so I can the coolsat bin I created when in slingboxsetup? Thanks! This forum rocks!

Have you done this? (From Robman's readme in the Sling Forum - linked to in the first sticky post of THIS forum)

Open the SABV.cfg file, which can be found in your Sling Player directory, using Notepad or another text editor.
Save a backup copy of it !!!
Find the appropiate section (eg, [SATELLITE.Codes] )
Add an entry like this: Your Device=S1011
That should be it. Next time you fire up your Sling Player software, go through the normal procedure to change the setup and select the brand, then select "other" to get to the code selection panel.

I changed the above to this:
but I still don't see it in slingbox's setup as a choice.

You need to change the 4-digit number to match the one used in the RM upgrade file.

I think you're in the wrong section of the cfg file.

The [SATELLITE] section is not the [SATELLITE.codes] section.
