I have been trying for several days to get a custom TD remote onto my slingbox. I have tried every suggestion I can find. Since the cfg file is no longer used. I tried just creating a new bin file and putting it into the correct folder. Sling will no recognize the new bin. So I tried saving it with and existing bin files name and the sling will take it but it won't control the TD. I am using the latest RM program. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
I have been using jp1 remotes since I made my first cable back in 1999.
Thanks

Have you read the sticky post (first post in this section) about Slingbox upgrades for the new software? If you have, and are following the recommendations, then please specify what steps you have doens and at exactly which step you encounter problems, and post any files you develop (RM, BIN) with links so someone can take a look.

Here are the steps that I did.
I opened RM and I get this error
java.io.filenotfoundexception; C:\doucements and settings...\slingbox.map
at.java.io.fileinputstream.open(Native Method)
at.java.io.fileinputstream.<int>(unknown source)
at.java.io.filereader<int>(unknown source)
at com.hifirmeote.jp1.impagemap.parse
and it goes on and on
ends in at.java.eventdispatdhthread.run(unknow source)
Then in RM I go to file open and I goto the file Triple_Dragon_KM2.txt (that I got from Rob)
Then I make sure that the UEI JU chip is selected then I export it to the SBAV folder in the slingbox . I name the file C1877_JU.bin
I save it
Here is the raw data put out from RM
Upgrade code 0 = 4F D0 (PVR/2000) Triple Dragon (RM v1.58)
FF 00 F2 FC 7E F2 48 00 1C 5D 95 02 05 0E 02 03
04 05 06 07 09 0A 0B 26 22 27 25 16 17 31 1F 2B
1B 1A 08 15 2E 13 2F 32 14 19 20 29 2D 21 0D 2A
2C 1C 10 0C 11 28 01 24
End

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C80) Manual Settings (RM v1.58)
43 8A 31 8B 16 8A 81 10 08 08 00 83 00 6F 00 83
00 6F A6 CC FF FF FF FF 07 FF 05 08 05 1C 08 28
06 C0 C2 16 C0 00 1A F9 90 C0 90 C0 90 C0 09 07
8D 01 46
End
When I get into the sling box, it accepts the file, but won't control the Triple Dragon[/img]

First you have to solve your RM problems, since you should not be getting all of those error messages. This has nothing to do with the Slingbox upgrade.

End
Posting the RM output may be useful to some expert, but what you really need to do is upload your actual RM file to the diagnosis area and post a link to it here.

Not surprising, considering you have a bunch of errors with RM. Fix those first, before you go on. That's a question for the software forum, however.

P.S. I presume you just have a typo when your error file says
Quote:
C:\doucements and settings...\slingbox.map
right? Otherwise, that may be your problem, if RM is looking for .map files in a folder with that name.

P.P.S. What's a TD? A TV? a set-top box? A SAT receiver? A PC TV tuner card? An 8-track tape deck? It really helps when you use more common terminology.

The exceptions are probably because you didn't download and unzip the Maps and Images required for RM, as stated in the Getting Started section of RM's Readme.html

BTW, as long as you stay away from the Layout tab in RM, this error is harmless.

you guys are awesome. Things have changed quite a bit from the last time I used keymap etc. RM now loads with no errors. Here is the link to the RM file.
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=3369
I loaded the file on to the slingbox and still was not able to control the Triple Dragon.
The triple dragon is an FTA satelite box, much like the dreambox.
Thanks for the help.
