To anyone in the User Group

I was wondering if anyone could give me a little direction on converting the following codes (for a NEC 50" Plasma HDTV / Model: NEC PX-50XR4 / Remote Control Model: NEC-RP-112) , so I can program my Phillips / ProntoPro NG / TSU: 7000 using Pronto Pro Editor NG / ver: 2.

I have tried having the ProntoPro NG Lean the commands in and out of the docking station and also using the ProntoPro Editor to no avail.

I was able to get these codes directly from NEC. But I am not sure how to use and or covert them into (4) four digit codes that the ProntoPron NG can use.

I know you support the ALL IN ONE Remotes.... but any help or direction you can give will be greatly appreciated.

Also, I have been searching the WEB for the complete set of discrete codes for: Direct TV's receiver/Tivo ....Model: Hughes / Model: HR10-250 / TIVO and help or direction on this would also be greatly appreciated.

Just FYI for anyone jumping in to help, this uses the NEC1 protocol. The functions where the hex code starts with "18 E7" use device code 24 (with no sub-device), which and the ones that start with "18 18" use device code 24 with sub-device code 24.

This matches TV/0704, which uses the NEC1 Combo protocol.

I don't like to question the master, but doesn't "18 E7" translate to dev=231 sub=24, and "18 18" to dev=231 sub=231? NEC1 is LSB-Comp correct?

I suspect that you're reading these hex values as though they were found in a UEI upgrade, whereas in fact they came from an NEC web site. Therefore, rather than reading them backwards and then complimenting the results (for an LSB-COMP) protocol you just use the regular HEX2DEC conversion routine to get the correct values.

And, if you look at the existing NEC upgrade that I linked to, you'll see that the codes used in that upgrade agree with the values that I posted.

Now, is somebody willing to walk Paul through the process of using MakeHex, or should he be looking to use the UDB style Pronto hex for the TSU7000 ?
