THis is a little odd. I just received a new slingbox with a serial number beginning with 509. According to Robman's article on adding codes to the slingbox this should be a PL blaster version. Going into the information box and looking at the IR blaster version it comes up as a 2 which is identified as JU. Im trying to add a dreambox dm-7020 to my box and have tried both PL and JU versions and neither work. What is going on?

This question might be better asked in the http://www.slingcommunity.com forums where the Slingbox employees might see it.

Just a little update. I found the problem and it didnt make sense. The latest beta software caused the confusion. Loaded the latest non beta and everything is fine. No more beta for me,.

As soon as I can get a good bin to work with then I will post it here. Right now I have only limited functions and cannot read the remote that dream sent. As far as I can tell its not a JP1 compatible remote so I am getting a pronto to map and then decode the CCF file I need.

I looked at the doc file you have in your other post. In it you are using an old 1.40 version of rm. Go here http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=9 and get the latest version of RM and try it again.

thx whompus for hint

so I downloaded newest RM
then downloaded again DreamboxDM7000.txt , slingbox RDFs

I started RM , chosed DreamboxDM7000.txt
in REMOTE section=line there was already Slingbox with UEI JU Chip
then popup says that there is Unknown Remote so I choosed Slingbox with UEI JU Chip
Now I have in :
Description -> Dreambox
REMOTE-> Slingbox with UEI JU Chip

Now I go to Export Binary and do it to SBAV folder.

I started Slingplayer and went to Properties -> Slingbox Configuration ->CHange Au/Vid setup -> USA -> Satelite receivers -> Other ->then I inputed code S1237 and I receive error:
0x93260001

so nothing really happened for me Sad

Any hints?

Have you modified your SBAV.cfg file as the directions specify?

Quote:

Open the SABV.cfg file, which can be found in your Sling Player directory, using Notepad or another text editor.
Save a backup copy of it !!!
Find the appropiate section (eg, [SATELLITE.Codes] )
Add an entry like this: Your Device=S1011

I'm sure you understand what Capn is saying. In case you don't.

Add an entry like this: Your Device=S1011

Is an example. You can name your device anything. Meaning where it say Your Device I would make it Dreambox so I could recognize what I am doing later. And in your case the S1011 would be S1237.

So in short the entry I would add in the cfg file would be Dreambox=S1237

SBAV.cfg is part of the computer side software isn't it. Or do you have to update the software when updating the slings firmware?

I would think there still has to be a configuration file of some sort. Whatever they may be calling it now.

Under the sling folder on the computer can you locate a file with all the sling device selections in it? Should be something.cfg but I guess they could be calling it anything.

If you saw my doc file showing step by step what I did you saw that I already edited config file... it didnt helped me...

there are 2, 3 files but when you want them edit using note pad u will find only bunch of japanese signs or ^%$%(^(*%^)&*$&
anyway I am not only one who complained about it,
bottom line is that I am not able to make it work using config file or newest firmware where u dont have to edit it , inputing code should resolve problem...
I wish Robman could help .....

I don't really know what else to suggest, Marcyjok, other than a silly question - might your Slingbox be a PL rather than a JU version? I suppose it would cost you nothing to build the RM upgrade and BIN file with the PL version selected and see if that makes any difference.

If, however, you have already made OTHER upgrades and have proved that this is the JU version, then I am out of ideas. Since I don't even HAVE a Slingbox, that's not really surprising, I just rely on what I've read here and Rob's help document, so maybe Robamn will have to jump in here.
