Yes, some people have had to disconnect Q1 from IDC-5 for the JP1.x cable to work as a JP1.2 cable. It's not recommended to add the JP1.1 components unless you have a JP1.1 remote.
I looked at the .IR file and it looks the same as the other .IR files. It uses the same fixed data of 0E 0F 44 1A. Here is the device upgrade code in the .IR file
Code: |
Upgrade Code 0 = 28 01 (SAT/0031) DM7025
6C 00 FE FE FE E2 FE C0 04 06 E1 0E 0F 44 1A 00
00 01 00 02 00 03 00 04 00 05 00 06 00 07 00 08
00 09 00 0A 00 0B 00 44 00 0D 00 0E 00 0F 00 50
00 51 00 52 00 28 00 20 00 53 00 21 00 22 00 23
00 24 00 25 00 26 00 40 00 41 00 42 00 43 00 0C
00 27 00 45 00 54 00 60 00 61 00 62 00 63 00 64
00 65 00 66 00 67 00 68 00 69 00 35 00 30 00 31
00 32 00 33 00 34 00
End

Can you record the signal coming out of the slingbox? There may be an issue in your generation of the slingbox file and/or in the slingbox itself using th e 016C XMP protocol. |

Thanks!! I'll try to get some parts tomorrow and report back again asap.
Have to build a simple serial ir receiver first..hope it works in one go. |

Hello,
any updates on this?
I really want to buy a Slingbox SB240-100 and I would like to use it with my dreambox 7020... but if I can't control the remote my buy will be almost useless.
So, can anyone give here a final reply if the remote control files posted earlier in this thread work or NO ?
Marcyjok, you started this thread... after almost 2 years have you found a solution yet?
Thanks! |

This thread here has some info on adding the missing components to make the Dreambox V4 remote a learning remote.

The RM/KM files are correct but no one has been able to verify/learn the IR signals generated by the Slingbox. It seems the issue is either the Slingbox doesn't like the bin file generated by RM or the Slingbox is not generating the correct signals. |

hmmm... so if we add the missing components and we make the dreambox rc a learning remote... there would be any chances to make it work with slingbox? |

No, making the Dreambox V4 remote into a learning one won't make the slingbox work. It is just one tool to see what the Slingbox is sending out. rvandaalen was going to build a simple IR receiver to also learn the Slingbox signal. We want to see if it matches what the Dreambox V4 remote is sending out. We know the RM/KM files are correct as others have used those to load upgrades into their Dreambox and other JP1 remotes. |

Well, fortunately I have a serial infrared interface here, I had it since I bought a few years ago my satellite PCI card, which came with a remote and this serial IR, which is compatible with WinLirc. I make you see an image of what I have:
is that suitable for what we would like to do?
Maybe when I get the SlingBox (next week) will you be able to instruct me here on what to do to try to accomplish something once and for all...? I will do all tests possible to make this thing work and make also happy many dreambox users with SlingBox

Yes, your serial IR device should be fine. You can use WinLIRC to record the IR signal. I think the program is called irrecord. You can probably use it now to record the signal from the Dreambox remote. Which model or version of the Dreambox remote do you have? |

to be honest I dont know...
to read the exact model I think I have to open it completely right? Well, i just tried, but it seems hard and I dont wanna risk to break anything.... do I just have to remove the only screw I see (in the battery box) and open the cover?
In the meantime I'm trying to make a config file with WinLirc. I configured the serial port (com2) and baud rate (115.200) and set "sense" to Autodetect. I clicked "Learn" and I passed the 1st phase, in which it asks to press 11 different buttons each after 1 second (I used all the number buttons in sequence plus the power on button), but now i'm stuck at the second phase and cannot get out of it:
Code: | Step Two: Input buttons.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a signal-repeating remote with no special repeat code.
Holding down the button can quickly yield many copies of that button's code.
Therefore, 64 samples of each button will be taken.
You will be prompted to enter each button's name in turn.
To finish recording buttons, enter a blank button name.
Button 1 name?
Please press and hold down the '1' button until told to stop.
Stop. Failed to get a consistent initial signal. Please try again.
Button 1 name?
Please press and hold down the '1' button until told to stop.
Baseline initialized.
matches=34, faults=64
Stop. Failed to get a consistent signal. Please try again.
Button 1 name? |
There's no way for me to go on here.... because i always get the message "Failed to get a consistent signal"
Maybe I have made errors in the config?
In receiver type I have set DCD device, the other choice is RX.
In transmitter settings I don't know what to set. Now I left DTR as it was before... but there's also TX, Inverted and Hardware Carrier.
What am I doing wrong? |

Hello,
A small update..I have build a receiver and tried winlirc to record info from my 7025 remote. Unfortunately all my remotes at home are recognized perfectly, except my dreambox remote.
As a workaround I currently have my slingbox send out a xbox-remote signal and my winlirc/girder setup converts this and sends out button URLs over my network to controll the dreambox.
e.g. slingbox button 1 will result in ->
192.168.0.220/web/remotecontrol?command=2
It is not the best solution because it needs a PC to run, and receive/send the info to the dreambox.
If anyone have a new suggestion it would be welcome I have tried all error/settings etc with winlirc the remote will not be read! thnx |

I'm not that familiar with WinLIRC. Is it having trouble learning this 016C Protocol signal? Can WinLIRC learn the TV/0680 signal? The output should look like what you listed previously http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/dream_multimedia/URC-39930RJ0-03.
There is also the CaptureIR program here that can sample the IR signals via the parallel port on a PC. I will try to load the 016C protocol into my URC-10820 and see what CaptureIR learns. I don't have a dedicated IR sensor so I just hook up 2 wires from the parallel port to the IR sensor on a VCR. |

as you know the dreambox remote has 2 keys "TV" and "DREAM" key that switch the normal Dream RC to control another device as universal remote.
Well, I just tried to switch in TV mode and this time WinLirc can recognize commands, and I was able to make a simple config file...
Code: | #
# this config file was automatically generated
# using WinLIRC 0.6.5 (LIRC 0.6.1pre3) on Mon Jun 18 06:37:51 2007

zero 524 4504

right 0x00000000000000C8
mute 0x000000000000007A
end codes
end remote |
but I guess this config is not reliable because it was made when dream rc was in TV mode....

Thanks. At least that confirms that your WinLIRC can learn some signals. Can you use SET-990 to blink back the setup code used for the TV button? |

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean by that. What exactly do I have to do?
By the way...on the net I have found the Philips Pronto Dreambox 7020 complete system ccf file, but I cannot open that file with winlirc and the content is unreadable.... might be useful anyway? Is there no way to convert this ccf file in a format we can analyze? |

You can blink back the setup code using SET-990.
Press the device button you want to the setup code for.
Press and hold SET(red LED blinks twice)
Enter 9-9-0
To view code for first digit, press 1 and then count the LED blinks.
press 2,3,4 for second, third, fourth digits. A zero digit will have no blinks.
