problem with creating update

Hello,

I am creating an update from scratch for my classic philips tv.
I'm using keymaster and ir.exe and remote urc8910

I have several learned keys on the remote which generate a problem.

For example Select key gives the following in the learned signals tab

#1 Protocol RC5 Device 0 OBC 87 Hex Cmd A0 or A1 or A2 EFC 015 or 007 or 031 Misc T=1

When I enter the OBC code in KM it doesn't work, also when I use the individual EFC, they don't work.

What am I doing wrong?

Regards, Mor@

With as little information as you have provided, it's absolutely impossible for any of us to accurately guess which step you might have missed in the process. We would need to see both your KM file and your IR file to be able to spot what you did wrong.

So, either load the following files...
1) The KM file where you tried to create the upgrade
2) The IR file that contains the upgrade

Zip these three files together and load the zip file into the Diagnosis Area folder, then post a link to your file here.

Or, re-read this and see if you can spot what you missed...

Alternatively, you could just try any of the Philips TV upgrades in the file section as they all use RC-5, device code 0 as does TV/0054 which is built into your URC-8910.

Read the "Protocol Help" given by km. If you understand, what this means, you would enter RC-5, device1 = 0, device2 = 100, OBC 87 and byte2 = 1.

Thanks so far,

I will read the protocol help.

I also uploaded my ir and km file, this is the link

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=2494

I'm new at this and am trying to read as much as I can, but it's pretty overwhelming. Hope somebody can give me some pointers.

Thanks!

Marcus.

Nothing was assigned on the buttons sheet in KM.

After you define all the functions on KM's functions sheet, you must assign them to buttons on the buttons sheet.

The default names on the functions sheet mostly match the button names, so it may look to a beginner as if you're defining buttons on the functions sheet. But it doesn't work that way.

BTW, .rar format is unpopular in this forum. I think some of the experts won't look at diagnosis files using .rar. I've had a lot of trouble in the past with the archieve program created specifically for .rar (forget its name) and won't try it again. But with a little guesswork this time, I found the "7-Zip File Manager" does a decent job on your .rar file.

WinRAR?
Actually, it does a decent job of ZIP files but stubbornly defaults to creating RAR files unless you tell it otherwise. RAR might be better than ZIP but then Betamax was meant to be better than VHS and JPG2000 is better than standard JPG but nobody uses that either.

Regardless of which is better, if I have to spend my time downloading a new program just so I can spend more time helping a newbie with his problems, I'm not going to bother.

What do you mean John? I assigned the buttons in the second column and they are all greyed out. Am I missing something

I reposted the file in zip format. No problem here :D

:o :o

I fixed it, thanks to Uwe!

I read the protocol help file and the problem was indeed the RC5 protocol with the higher OBC numbers.

I guess I didn't read all or at least not enough.

Thanks a lot Uwe, oder vielleicht vielen dank !!

Marcus.
