I now have my 8910 setup saved in IR.
I have my Remotemaster v.0.77 TIVO 8910.rmdu
Now I think I need to get the IR data back into the .rmdu to manipulate it..
Am I correct and how do I do that?
Thanks for all the help. |

If you're wanting to ADD the Tivo .rmdu upgrade, you've got it a little backwards. You ADD by: (open IR), download from remote, Devices>add and copy and paste the device upgrade on the last sheet in RM. (If you don't have RM up top, you need to open RM, reload your tivo upgrade rmdu file). If there's a protocol upgrade on RM's last sheet, you'll need to add it as well (IR>Protocol>add by the copy and paste method). Then all that's left is to assign that device type and upgrade setup code number to an actual key on IR's "general tab", SAVE and name this new configuration, and "Upload to remote". You always ADD from either KM or RM TO IR, not IR to KM or RM.

I think what you are asking is "now that I have a partial upgrade built in RM for the TIVO" how do I get the additional information from IR into RM. Well, there is no easy way as there is no way to go from IR to RM or KM for that matter automatically. Bascially, it is one way from RM to IR. If you think of it from the prespective that one RM upgrade is = to one device like a TV. So, for a theather setup you may have 1 RM file for TV, 1 for the Receiver, and 1 for a DVD player. IR represents the theater system where you load the individual RM device files into IR and then can manipulate how the work together in IR.
Having said all that for no good reason since you probably already knew that, if you want to make changes to the TIVO upgrade in RM you learn any missing buttons to the remote from the OEM remote, download them with IR, read from IR the information for the button and enter it/them manually into RM on the functions tab then assign the function to a button on either the buttons or layout tab. You then copy the RM data from the output tab to IR, then upload to the remote and complete the circle. At that time you can also delete the learned codes in IR since you now have them assigned to buttons in the RM upgrade.
Wow, hope that made sense. _________________ Nils
