|
|
Hey, all. I've just bought a new Panasonic SC-HT15 surround amp/tuner/speaker system. My one-for-all remote is the one that came with my TV set and it happens to be a JP1.2 interface, so I can't use IR.EXE to modify it, so I'm stuck with doing all my codes and key moves by punching MAGIC-9-9-whatever, etc.... I have no problem doing all of that, I just don't have the advanced codes for this product.
By the way, in case this helps, the remote is one that takes five digits for the product, and five digits for each of the advanced codes. (Earlier in this forum, someone pointed out that all my old Tivo advanced codes would work if I merely preceded them with two zeroes, and that worked.)
The code that I had to enter into this remote to get it to control my SC-HT15 was 31518, in case that helps.
Can anyone help me with these advanced codes? I've got almost everything I need programmed except for one or two buttons.
I also couldn't find a pronto file for this amplifier when I looked. |

Even without the ability to upload to your remote using JP1 tools, those selfsame tools can be used with the upgrade file section here to identify lots of advanced function codes. Have you gone to the File Section (see the link at the top of this page), and looked in the Device upgrade/HT systems page, and noticed there are about 5 or 6 Panasonic SC-HTXX upgrades? Open any of them in KM or RM and read off all of the advanced codes you need. _________________ Beginners - Read this thread first

Just FYI, when you see 5-digit setup codes for the new OFA remotes, the first digit corresponds to the device type (ie, all TV codes should start with the same number, same for all the VCR codes, etc) and the last 4 digits are the standard UEI setup code, so in this case the setup code is audio/1518.
This setup code uses the Panasonic Combo protocol, which uses 2 bytes of variable data. Therefore, you can't use the traditional 3-digit advanced codes with the 2 leading zeroes added. The new 5-digit advanced codes were created to support protocols such as this, but like everything else that UEI does, they introduced a new level of encryption for the 5 digit codes.

THANK YOU!!!
Some of those codes do work. However, many of them don't seem to do anything on my receiver. There's no code for selecting the DVD player input, and the other inputs (CD, tape, etc) don't work. I guess I'll keep futzing with it and searching for other codes and see if I can figure it out.
Thanks again for this good information. |

I gave you the SC- list as that was the closest match to the audio/1518 setup code, perhaps you need the SA- list. If I get a chance later I will try and put one together. _________________ Rob

Captain Tripps, I went to the file section, found a promising-looking Panasonic file (in .TXT format), grabbed the KM spreadsheet, loaded the TXT file into the spreadsheet, and... I've got no idea what I'm looking at. I'm not experienced with using that spreadsheet and I don't know what to look for to glean AFC's out of it.
I know, I should learn... |

Rob, thanks for offering to put together an AFC list from the other remotes. That would be incredibly helpful. |

OK, printed below is the SA- list. I've also add the EFC5 codes to the SA and SC lists in my Panasonic master file (which isn't as up to date as Elizabeth's) in case you'd rather get them from there.
Could you do me a favor, could you keep track of which EFC5s work for your SC-HT15 and then report back so we can update our lists. Better yet, if you know how, go ahead and create a KM upgrade file.
Here's the spreadsheet...

Rob, how do you make those?
There was a formula somplace on the forum once but I forgot - run through EFC calculator and just add more bytes? |

First, I cut and pasted the OBC and sub-device columns over to KM to get the hex codes, then I cut and pasted the hex codes over to the new-EFC-worksheet spreadsheet to get the EFC5 codes. _________________ Rob

Just make sure you select a remote that has EFCDigits=5 in the RDF. There are only 2:- EM60EM60 (URC-7562-B01 One for All).rdf:
- KASAKAS0 (URC-9960 B01 One For All Kameleon).rdf

I was just thinking the same thing.
Greg, what's the limit, if any for the number of functions I can put into RM. Actually not functions, but unique subdevice+OBC combinations? I don't recall the exact number at this moment, but can if you need to know to estimate. |
