I'm about to get a URC 9960 Kameleon in the mail, and was wondering:
I understand that the original Radio Shack Kameleon required a battery adapter of some sort as well as a pogo pin adapter to work with the standard JP1 cable.
Does the 9960 still require the/a battery adapter?
Or is it simply (1) use a pogo adapter OR (2) solder in a 6-pin header? (I've seen those descriptions about flux and hot glue)
I presume an alternative is to use IRtoWAV to load my upgrades, right?
URC 9960 JP1 requirements?

The 9960 does not require the battery adapter. If you have steady hands all you need is a pogo pin adapter. Actually works pretty well.
You can solder in the 6 pin header but since there is no holes in the pad all you can do is sit the pins on the pads and solder them. Make sure you use flux and then after you test it put a spot of hot glue around the base to help support it a little.
