HELP CODING PROTOCOL FOR NOKIA 32

In trying to set up an upgrade for a Digital TV Receiver I discovered that although the Nokia 32 is a recognised protocol on IR615 in does not exist on Keymap Master v8.33 or Remote Master according to another member of the group having the same problem.

I have read the Keymap master Protocols text file but cannot see where to start analysing the learned signals for the Nokia 32 protocol I have in the diagnosis area https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1986 as I am only a beginner.

Is it better to attempt to create the protocol myself or leave this to an expert.

Thanks for any help.

John Fine has addressed this by searching the forum for you in your earlier thread:
johnsfine wrote:I just did a forum search and found this thread

That has both a Nokia32 protocol Jon Armstrong built and one from UEI.

On a first quick read, I didn't understand how the fixed data or hex commands should be set up for either of them to get the desired commands. I also didn't check to see if they happen to be for the same device you have (in which case you wouldn't need to change the fixed data or hex commands).
Have you tried the protocol (there is a linked upgrade that has a manually built protocol, and a "pasted" decode of an actual UEI Nokia32 upgrade) from THAT referenced thread to solve your Nokia32 challenge?

To save you some more trouble, here is the protocol from the device file built in the thread referenced above:

48 93 32 8B 16 CF 01 08 08 00 00 00 3F 00 53 00
77 C4 52 00 D2 00 76 FF FF FF 04 77 77 8D 01 46

and here is the protocol decoded from a UEI-provided Nokia32 device upgrade from further down that thread:

Protocol:

47 93 41 8B 15 00 00 54 00 77 00 54 00 CA 00 54
01 1D 00 54 01 71 00 D0 00 77 A6 0D 02 EB 03 E6
0D 12 76 03 01 6B 08 76 00 01 6B 03 B6 06 80 F6
FF 56 6C 09 F6 01 0A FB 0B C6 F8 13 88 F6 01 58
6A F2 8B EB 76 03 02 EB 01 AF C6 F8 13 88 F6 01
58 6A F7 46 06 80 1C 22 F6 01 4C B0 C4 87 34 04
F6 FF 6C 4E 37 44 F6 1C 12 8D 01 4C 5C 04 90 C3
90 C3 08 C3 56 C0 03 86 04 C0 06 C1 12 F6 01 4C
5A EC AF

I'm no expert, but I believe you can give the protocol any ID you want, e.g 01 EE (so long as it doesn't conflict with any other protocol you want your remote to access)

I have started to create an upgrade from the UEI provided NOKIA 32 device upgrade. This is now in the diagnosis area.

https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1993

I am still looking for some of the data that seems relevant (???) and was hoping someone could help.

The development so far has been as follows:

PROTOCOL TABLE

Protocol name = Manual Settings
Device 1 no. = ???
Device 2 no. = ???
Device 3 no. = ???
Raw Fixed Data = ???

MANUAL SETTINGS

PID = 01 90 (slightly higher than the highest PID on display)
2nd Cmd Byte = ???
Signal style = ???
Bits/Dev = ???
Bits/Cmd = ???

3RD PARTY PROTOCOL CODE

Copied UEI upgrade code in format shown under protocol help.. Selected
1 = 01 90, not sure if this is correct.[/url]

Thanks for any help

Reading the initial thread right through rather than following a link on this I managed to find a link to a Keymaster text file set up for the Galaxis Satellite Box applying a custom made Nokia 32 protocol.

Link: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1065

Using this I managed to set up a Keymap master text file for the Matsui Digital TV Receiver and copied this to IR successfully. This is working successfully on the URC8910. I have put a copy of the file in the Upgrade area of the files section as this will help others looking for the Nokia 32 protocol.

Link: https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload ... le_id=1995

I could not understand how the IR615 learned signals relate to the 4 character hex code shown on Keymap master but am happy it works.

:lol:

Great work GOGGS75 :D

I've got it to work with my URC7541 using your file. There are three buttons missing (swap, wide and status). I'm going to see if I can find a pattern between the learned EFC/OBC codes and the resulting 4-byte hex command.

Thanks for all your hard work!

I've got a bit further with the missing functions. Using the info in the link earlier in this thread
https://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewt ... 1195#p21195 I've translated two of three functions successfully;

Status=obc 3Fh becomes 77 77

Wide=obc 61h becomes B2 FF

and they both work, but

Swap=obc FFh becomes EE EE which doesn't work. The OBC of FFh seems a bit odd as all the other functions are between 00h and 78h, but this is what the learned function is showing.

GOGGS75 - do you also get FFh when you learn the swap function?

Dsarnes,

I also get the hex code FF when learning the swap function.

Swap function DOES work as EE EE :D

I had a pesky key move programmed in that I'd forgotten about :oops:

Good work guys. Make sure that one of you loads an updated upgrade file for this device with the additional functions that you found.
