I've been using JP1 now for a short period of time and have had great success in using it along with a UIRT2 to automate my home audio system! I've had some trouble integrating Russound A-Bus codes, which I would like to include in a macro called from the Power key on my URC-8811. They don't seem to be recognized by DecodeIR.dll, so I'm hoping someone can give me some guidance as to what protocol might be used.

Here's info about my devices and search so far:
1. Device: Russound A-Bus A-KP2 Amplified Keypad & A-H4 Hub
2. Type of device: A-Bus Audio Amplifier
3. JP1 Remote model: URC-8811
4. JP1 user? Yes
5. Still have original remote? Yes
6. Checked the file section? Yes
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes, there are two .CCF files there (file 1 and file 2) but DecodeCCF could not only shows that the A-Bus codes are carried as learned codes for the Pronto.
8. Partially working setup code? No
9. Learning remote question? I've placed a copy of the learned codes in the Diagnosis Area. This file has the learned codes for all four keys on the AKP-RC remote supplied with the system {Off (CD: L1), On (CD: L2), Vol - (CD: L3), Vol + (CD: L4)}.

gdisalvo,

can you tell me how far you've got with this remote?

I have the UK version
a A-KP-EU key pad and A-LRC1 remote, which i think are the same, but UK specific.

regards

pete

I have created an upgrade file for this...
http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/dload.php?action=file&file_id=2160

Here's the URC-8811 version of the upgrade if you want to do a quick test...

Upgrade Code 0 = 3F D0 (Video Acc/2000) Russound Keypad 40khz (KM v8.31)
FF 00 61 C8 C6 C6 C4 C2
End

Upgrade protocol 0 = 01 FF (S3C8+) Russound Keypad 40k (PB v3.11)
40 85 01 8B 12 84 05 08 07 03 84 00 00 00 00 03
70 26 66 0A BE 05 64 8D 01 46
End

This is the same protocol as discussed here except that it uses a carrier freq of 40khz rather than 38khz.

Here's the techie info...

freq = 39.8 khz
lead-in = +5500 -2800
lead-out = 19660
1 burst = +1800 - 0
0 burst = +0 -1800

Here's the timing data...
+5500 -2800 +1800 +1800 -1800 -1800 -1800 -1800 +1800 -19302
+5500 -2800 +1800 +1800 -1800 -1800 -1800 +1800 -1800 -19312
+5500 -2800 +1800 +1800 -1800 -1800 -1800 +1800 +1800 -19302
+5500 -2800 +1800 +1800 -1800 -1800 +1800 -1800 -1800 -19322

And here's the binary data...
1100001
1100010
1100011
1100100
