S-93C56BD0H EEPROM JP1 compatible? (I can get a few free)

Just wondering how standard these 8 pin EEPROMs are. The overview for this chip is here and the datasheet is here.

If it takes really digging into the spec to tell if it's compatible then don't bother. I just didn't know if an expert could glance at the specs and give a quick yea or nay. I was thinking about going ahead and grabbing a 6131nw from Wal-Mart, and whether or not I can use these would influence that decision. I can get my hands on three or four of these chips for free here at work. I'm designing a machine to assemble motors to automobile instrument clusters, and the boards I'm assembling have one of these on them. I can snatch 'em off the test parts, as these parts will not be used in production.

That data sheet says 2K BITS. The standard JP1 eeprom is 2K BYTES. 1K bytes is OK if you can't get 2K bytes. But other sizes, including 2K bits are not OK.

That's enough to rule out these chips. But I also think the pin out is different and the serial protocol is different, so even if the size were OK it still wouldn't work. I'm not certain of the pinout and protocol. I'm comparing to my poor memory of the right chip, not to a spec. I am sure of the two acceptable size, 1 or 2 K bytes, which is 8 or 16 K bits.

I didn't even look at the voltages and currents, which might also rule it out.

Don't bother. It won't work. Those are 3-wire I/F EEPROM whereas JP1 requires a 2-wire I2C EEPROM.
