Finally more comfortable with Keymoves, but a question arises out of that.
It seems that it would be a simple process to edit the button assignments within KM to assign different buttons rather than "move" them and consume that resource.
For example, using the "Samsung_DVD-V3650.txt" update file for the Samsung DVD-V4600, the <enter> key needs to be on the <select> button in the cursor pad.
Is there any reason not to directly edit the button within a single device using KM before uploading to IR?
Thanks in advance, |

You hit the nail right on the head. Single upgrades are the best way to handle key assignments from a memory usage perspective IF there are a lot of keymoves involved. Remember however that some buttons on the remote will generate keymoves if they are not in the map for the device. For ex. if you create a TV upgrade and put functions on the transport (play etc) buttons they will more than likely become keymoves since they are not typically TV functions.
Personally I prefer to do all of my key assignments in an RM upgrade even if they generate keymoves since I like to control what is on each button and be able to change it easily if need be. _________________ Nils
