I am new to this programming. I have currently configured beyond tv to work with my 8910 with the hauppauge silver remote. In the irremote.ini file I have added the values to control btv and configured the vcr button to control btv. What I want to do now is get windvd 7 to work with my 8910. I added the values into the irremote.ini file and programmed the cd key to control the windvd software. However I can't get it to work. What it seems to be doing is looking at the btv key commands in the ini file and not the windvd commands.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
thanks
mike

I'm not sure anyone here will be able to help much since the remote appears to be programmed correctly and your problem is with the receiver and irremote.ini. There will be info over at shspvr and Sage , and there was a user called "toongal" that had uploaded some customized files but I don't remember which forum had it (could even be here or at Yahoo JP1).
That said, the Hauppauge remote in general targets only the foreground or active window and when you add a section, you need to list the name in the [Applications] portion. In other words, if you add a section called [WinDVD] then you need to include WinDVD= in the [Applications] part. Anything you put in the [Default] section will have priority unless another section is active (same key will have multiple actions depending on the active window).
Either the person who wrote the remote application hasn't been very helpfull about using it's functions with other programs, or it's a really difficult program to modify.

Just call me Zaphod (or Steve) --- I never should have started using numbers in a screen name but I just can't stop now.
