|
|
Soldered a pin header into an older urc-7200b00 (Cinema 6) with the hope of having a second jp1 device that I could experiment with impunity on.
The Interface check passes, but when the download is started, it reports "Bad Checksum" expected $44 $BB but found $41 $BE"
It does get enough info to id the remote as a urc 7800-6800.
Any wisdom on this error? I have rechecked the solder joints and they appear to be good and well flowed. |

Try doing a 981 reset and see if that clears it. If it doesn't, check your soldering again. Did you use flux? If not, re-do it using flux this time.
Btw, the URC-7200 is a Cinema 7. _________________ Rob

That did it! Thanks!

Your catch exposes the fact that the battery covers on the Cinema 6 and Cinema 7 are identical and obviously got swapped somewhere over the years that I have had both...
...plus it also exposes the fact that it is probably not a good idea to put the only part/model# for a device on a removable component ;-)
Thanks again, |

Absolutely. This is also true for the URC-6011/URC-8011/URC-6131 which all have the same shape/size lower section and battery cover. Same story for the URC-8811/URC-8910/URC-9910/HT-Pro and also for the 15-1994/15-1995/15-2116/15-2117 _________________ Rob
