Hi,
I try to mute the sound of the commercials in tv shows.
Is it possible to do it with a macro
My vcr has a skip for 30 seconds.
i try to use it for muting the audio but to bad, sending 6 skip result in 3 second pause because the remote is flashing too fast.
remote is rs2116 with jp1 cable.
Any idea

pause protocol question
After asking for a way to do a 3 minutes mute on tv mode and getting no awnser..) ; atfter reading a lot on this forum (and i' thimk this is the way to go), I have found the pause protocol. I' am now able to do the thing with a
lot of repeat thw 15 second delay in a macro.
My question is: Since the led on my rs-21116 is on for 3 minute (so I presume the ir transmetter will be on too) is there any drain consideration for the battery life in this case.
Thanks in advance

The pause protocol works by processing and counting cycles in the processor and the lcd (but not the led) is staying on the whole time so yes it will put a drain on the batteries. On the 2116/2117 the batteries last quite awhile so you may not notice too much in the length of the life of the batteries.
The Pause Protocol does not keep the IR transmitter on (I think one of the other common pause methods does).
The remote will be using more battery (for lcd, cpu, and backlight if on) than it does when not in use. But it won't be transmitting ir (which would be even higher battery use).
Sorry, I don't know the actual quantities of current draw for those components.

pause protocol question
Thanks for yours anwsers, really apreciated. one more question...
Is there any ways to modify the pause protocol for more long delay, since it take a lot of macro space to do a 3 minutes.
Sorry for the charabia, my english is not too good today.
