I have a RS 15-2104. I have played with this for a year. Last year i had it intentionally setp up so that whether I am in TV mode or cable/sat mode, the power button only controls the TV. This was because I needed the cable box to be on all the time (needed for replaytv).
Now i have a new DVR/cable box that i want to control power buton again. It is a Scientiffic atlantic 8300. I found the txt device file for it and went thru keymaster and pasted it onto IR6.
Everything works great except power button still control the TV only, not cable box.
In all the other modes, (dvd, aux, vcr, etc) the power button control it's respective device. It is only the cable/sat mode that power controls the tv.
How do i undo this? Again i am not sure how I set this up in the first place.
I will say i did start out with an image of the remote from before (and not started from scratch). Also, the .txt image I started from was created with IR412, but I loaded that .txt to IR615 and made the changes through there.
My last resort would be to reset the remote to factory default. Is there such a thing with this remote?
power button push through on 15-2104?

When you made the cable mode power button send the TV power command you created a keymove for that command in that mode.
You can create such a keymove in ir.exe or you can create it (using the external functions feature) in KM or RM and copy it to IR with the upgrade.
BUT you can only delete the keymove in IR.EXE, deleting the use of the external function in KM or RM and reloading the upgrade into IR will NOT delete that keymove.
It should be fairly easy to find and delete from IR's KeyMoves tab.

The KeyMove must have CBL (or whatever that button is called in your RDF file) in the FIRST "Device Button" column in the list of KeyMoves, and it has Power on the key column.
Depending on how much has changed since you installed it, it likely has TV in the Second Device button column and the Setup code number of your TV in the next column.
Also check the Learned Signals tab. You might have programmed it that way.

The "Bound Device Button" should be Cable/SAT and "Key Name" will be Power (i.e. this is the button TO WHICH you've assigned the KeyMove), and the "Device Type" should be TV, and the "Advanced Code" should correspond to the EFC for your TV Power command.superflysocal wrote:thanks for quick replies..
i thought this morning i looked into the Keymove section but I guess i am not sure what i am looking for. What exactly am i looking for? A key move with which device number, the cable or tv?
Depending on which version of IR you use, some of the column titles may differ slightly, but hopefully you can figure that much out.
