I think I'm missing something, but I have a problem trying to program in several of my devices.
I am using an RCU810 and have been able to program in all of the keys for several devices by creating upgrade devices. The problem is that I am using an RCA 2280 receiver. I want to be able to have the Video input changed when I press a device key, for example the CBL key with my Motorola DCU 200. The only way I can get the receiver to change the video input is to use another key (ie SAT) programmed in with a RCA Cable code (ie 0409). I have the same proglem with several other non-RCA devices.
I have been reading everything I can find and can not seem to see how this can be done.
I would appreciate any advice on how to accomplish this.
Thanks in advance

You need an extender just for the ability to put a macro on a device select key (CBL).
Then you need KeyMoves, probably to shifted keys, to do the input select.
Your RCA receiver uses the "Discrete On" command from various other RCA devices as its input select commands. You need to find the standard EFC number for dicrete On for RCA (mentioned in many threads on RCA input select in the Yahoo JP1 forum) and assign a KeyMove for that EFC in the appropriate RCA setup code to a shifted key in the appropriate other mode (CBL in this example). Test that shifted key to see if it really works, then include it in the macro used by the extender to select the CBL device. |
