The URC-9910 is indeed a learning remote, so you can make your own upgrade.

Rob is right that you can get this done faster by learning than by telling us enough that we might be able to tell whether/where someone might have posted the results of that learning before.

What is 1223?

Built-in setup code in the 9910 and my data (on 9910 setup codes) is wrong?
From a JP1 upgrade for some other Malata model?
An upgrade installed by OFA when they tried to help you support that device?
A typo?

If it was anything but the first of those, you should have explained (such as URL of the file you got it from). Knowing which code set has a working power button might tell us a lot. But a setup code number alone (other than for a built-in setup code) doesn't tell us much.

Even though the original poster said he'd checked the file section, I decided to take a look myself and there are 5 upgrade files available for Malata DVD players, and they all use the same device code (NEC1, device 1 - though I didn't check to see if the EFCs are the same) so there's a very good chance that any one of these will work with your player. Did you try any of them?

At any rate, it would be alot quicker to just learn the signals from your original remote and build an upgrade from there.

Thanks for the help and getting right back to me.
Seems to be true that upgrading myself is the best option.
Just going around the bases for the first time.

And yes I tried OFA upgrade (0782) with less compatibility
than 1223 from this link. Robman's 520 at least lets me verify comm info.
