I think either my vision is going, I am not looking at the same file as you, or I'm just confused.

Here are the EFCs that are assigned to buttons in the 15-1994 when you program the RCVR/0004 setup code (available for viewing using the devices4.xls spreadsheet) ...

I think I see the source of my confusion. I was getting the EFCs from
the hifi-remote.com Advanced Code list for RCVR/0004 which seems to
have different EFCs from Devices4.xls (or the functions are listed are
different but sound like they'd do the same thing)

http://hifi-remote.com/codes2/amp_0004.shtml

Once I view the EFCs from Devices4.xls I see exactly what you are
saying. I think the Advanced Code list has a bunch of functions that
sound like what dtrump was defining, but are not really the same as
the EFCs are completely different.

While code searching for discrete functions for a Denon DRA-685P receiver I did something I didn't think was possible. I killed it!

I had already found discrete on & off and other codes that I was searching for. So I was just cruising through the range of EFC codes seeing if I could find anything else that might be useful.

But when I hit EFC 008 (OBC 130), the speakers popped once and the receiver went into "protection" mode. I have tried everything to clear the condition, but it appears to be permanent. I have discussed this with Denon/Marantz and they are sending a replacment unit.

From now on, we should use the display gear at Circuit City when we do blind code searches.

I've got a better idea, let's all go into our local Radio Shacks and test out their remotes on their stuff!!!!

Why Rob? Are you low on batteries? The clerk hustling you to buy more batteries is kinda cute?

I just think it would be kinda funny to use an RS remote to accidentally kill a few RS receivers or something! Smile

Be even funnier if it killed a few annoying RS clerks. Smile

What's the device code I can use for VPT for an RS Clerk? I can't seem to
get mute working.

If they happen to have any made by Denon, the code is already posted.

BTW, we must have a different breed of RS clerks here in Iowa. When I asked to swap the Kameleon for a 2116, there was no hesitation and they refunded the difference even though it was past 30 days. (Policy is normally store credit if past 30.) And they pleasantly asked if I needed batteries - no push when I said no.

I'm no great fan of RS but that visit was a pleasant surprise.

I got free batteries with one of the 15-2104's I bought. It was the last one at the store, had no box nor manual and had batteries in it (It didn't look used, but must have been at least demoed a little).

You may have noticed batteries are sometimes hard to get out of a 2104. The clerk tried for just a moment, couldn't do it and then told me he was giving me free batteries "because the box and manual are missing".

He was the hardest RS clerk to just buy something from, because he didn't want to believe I didn't need the manual. I told him I had no desire for the manual when he told me over the phone that he would try to find it. I told him that again in the store when he told me he couldn't find it Then he wanted to find a PDF file of the manual on the internet for me, so I had to insist I didn't want it.

At the other stores where I bought 15-2104s they just asked about batteries, I said no, and there was no fuss.

Denon has published the commands for many of it's models. If you tell us what model you have we may be able to give you the exact command set.

The IR commands for the 1802 are not at the Denon website. According to this thread, the commands for the 1802 are a subset of the command set for the 5803 that are listed below. There are numerous device upgrades in the files for Denon that you can use as a template for the 1802. The setup codes below are not in all remotes, but if you have them then it may be easier to see which commands work.

You get an "A" for effort, but, I'm looking for the newly combined 1160 codes.
