I know the advanced codes for a number of functions that aren't listed in keymap using the upgrade from the jp1 yahoo forum.
I used to use advanced codes for these on my other one for all remotes (none of which have a JP1 connector), but now I would like to program these functions on my "new" remote (a 9800). The problem is that the 9800 doesn't take advanced codes.
So for example, the advanced code under 0775 for Program Guide is 144, however the efc and bc are different (obc = 10, efc = 83).
What is the relatiuonship (if any) between the advanced code and the efc? If I know the advanced code can I just directly input into the efc?
Or is there a more definitive way to get the efc codes for other functions.

Converting advanced codes to efc's

I tried to work out an explanation for that and coundn't quite do it.bbking67 wrote: So for example, the advanced code under 0775 for Program Guide is 144, however the efc and bc are different (obc = 10, efc = 83).
There are different versions of the protocol executor for the "dish network" protocol, so I think the EFC for the same function could differ from one OFA model to another. But I can't figure out how a function would have an EFC of 144 on one model and an EFC of 083 on another. Since the 144 came from a model without JP1 support, that makes things a little trickier.
Are you sure that is the same function? Now that you know advanced codes are EFC numbers (and how to use EFC numbers), what do EFCs 144 and 083 do on on your 9800?
If the EFC numbers do differ between your non JP1 remote and the 9800, then with a few other examples (EFC from each for the same function) we can work out the rules for using KM or RM to translate EFC numbers from that other remote to what the 9800 uses. (Unless one of the other experts already knows which executor your other remote would be using).
MaskedMan, thanks, I didn't know that I could do advanced codes on this remote! All of my codes that I use on my 8017 and URC5650 (Cinema 5 Plus) work perfectly! This helped me tremendously (guess I really didn't need that JP1 connector).
The weird thing is that the EFC's are exactly the same as what I expected, but yet in the keymap master, the codes listed are totally different. What gives?
