Tommy's instructions to open 6131 are about 6131n, new, square-corners one.
Are there instructions about 6131o, old, non-rectangular, anywhere? Is it as rough as the n? _________________ Liz

The N model is completely different, the standard version opens just like any other remote. Get a small screwdriver and pop open a corner near the bottom of the remote, then use an old credit card or a plastic putty knife to open the rest of it, by dragging it around the opening. _________________ Rob

It was VERY difficult to open. Even rougher than 8910. Going around the corner had me give up few times, but I did get it opened. It's different than 8910, no plastic sheet, and all the traces are different. Look more resilient to wiping clean. It had a bath and can hang. Thank you! _________________ Liz

I guess it's all a question of practice, because given that I've soldered up literally hundreds, maybe even thousands, of 6131 remotes, I can pop them open in about 10 seconds. _________________ Rob
