|
|
I have a new Sampo LME-17S3 LCD monitor/TV (great deal at Costco). I'm using Rob's device file "Sampo-PME42S6-plasma.txt" on my 15-2116 (with ext2). It works fine to control the TV, but I have to hold down each remote button to get the TV to register the IR command. In other words, the signal durations are too short.
It looks like a lot of effort to use the device combiner protocol to extend every signal (if it's even possible with this weird Sampo protocol). Is there a simple way to modify the protocol itself to lengthen the signals?
I've poked around trying to learn about protocols, but I haven't found much to read on-line.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try replacing the protocol provided by KM with this one...
Upgrade Protocol 0 = 01 65 (S3C8+)
43 8C 13 8B 12 8D 45 06 06 01 A6 01 92 01 A6 04
D6 40 5A 06 98 06 79 08 04 37 00 03 E6 03 48
E6 0D 05 8D 01 46
End
The number is red is the minimum number if times the signal should repeat, you may need to adjust it higher or lower. If you get it exactly right, you should be able to just peck the remote button and the signal will be held for long enough to work the device each time.
Remember that this is hex, so if you go above 09 the next value is 0A not 10. _________________ Rob

Thanks, Rob. Worked great. The right value turned out to be 01. I'll try to post the device file (to Yahoo) when I get a chance.
