JP1 Remotes for Handicapped

I know someone who is severly handicapped and can't use a conventional remote. He has one of the I-shaped remotes from Radio Shack with the giant buttons. He wants to use a remote of this type to control multiple devices (TV, VCR, TiVo). Is this possible with any of the JP1-capable remotes? In other words, are there any of these large-button remotes with the JP1 pins or pads? Has anyone ever heard of a programmable solution for those with hand problems?

...that seems to be a good directory for AT (Assistive Technology) in general. They also have a section on EC (Environmental Controls), which this falls under.

I'm a quadraplegic paralized from the neck down. Cab't move my arms at all. I use the URC-9910 and the typing stick here. If he can move his/her arma but minumal hand control he/she could try this typing stick here. With the URC-9910 I operate 10 devices plus X-10 lamp and appliance modules. I use to use a Pronto TS1000 as you can see in this picture here until it died and I replaced it with the TSU3000 but it was too buggy and terrible, terrible battery life. I tried the MX-800 but it's backlight button waas located were I couldn't use it and it's RF ability was undependable with my Harmon Kardon receiver and my X-10 control. The URC-9910's RF works everytime and eliminates having to worry about aiming the remote (since I can't).
