Integrating IR and RF from different systems

Post by barnard1727 »

Does anyone know the technicalities of integrating different RF and IR systems together? This is to offer maximum flexibility of whole house control. Let me explain:

Given an RF powermid receiver, OFA 9910 RF receiver, Channel Plus Channel injector. Each of these three devices has a mini-jack port to connect an IR emitter to control your equipment. The problem is I then have 3 IR emitters and I'd like to match certain ones to each of my several components. So I would love to have them all plug into some kind of IR engine like a Xantech connecting block (e.g., they make a multi-zone block that "appears" to be what I want).

I guess the real question is can you just connect double-ended mini-jack plugs between my three IR emitter ports and combine them together with a connecting block? I can't seem to find anything that references routing these signals from different sources like this through a connecting block - are some 5Volt and other 12Volt, etc. I just don't have a clue about the signal coming out of these mini-ports and the signal the connecting block is expecting.

Greatly appreciated if anyone can offer any insight on this one.

Thanks.

Replace the 9910 with either URC urc-100, 200, 300 or HTM mx-350, 600, each will communicate directly with your pyramid rf extender.
