shift key for 8910

I keep seeing references to 'shift' keys for various remotes, and thought I read somewhere that the 'set' key is the shift key for the 8810 remote. Is that correct?

Also, on actual use, I've not seen a description: I assume by 'shift' key, people mean 'hold the shift key and then press something else' to get an additionall function. That would seem to be inconvenient with the 'set' key here, because it's recessed.

It is press the set key, then press the desired key, not press-and-hold.
There is a time limit I believe.

Some remotes don't have a recessed set/setup/magic key, so that isn't always an issue.

Thanks! So, it's a sticky shift key... I assume use of this is tied to JP1 only?

No, use is not limited to JP1.

You can learn or assign a macro, keymove or EFC to a shifted key.

When you are supposed to press the key you want to use, just press set first.
