blinking back advanced codes

Post by jimmyk »

I am trying to set up a non-learning remote. I have a learning remote which has learned some advanced codes. Is there a way to decode advanced or "learned" codes for a particular button? Do I HAVE to have a JP1?

I'm using an Apex TV using Toshiba code 0156... I am trying to duplicate the 'previous channel' command from the original remote onto a universal remote (URC-403...something... the model number worn off). The one built into the 0156 code does something different when I press the 'previous channel' button on the universal (displays CC status). I'm simply trying to get my OFA remote to go to previous channel on my Apex TV. Same code on the same remote works properly on my Toshiba TV.

There is no way to blink back a decode of a learned signal. The remote never decodes the signal. A learned signal is basically a recording of the IR stream. That is not at all similar to the way signals are generated by EFC numbers.

Apex TV's that use roughly the same code set as standard Toshiba TVs have been discussed multiple times in multiple IR forums. I haven't checked yet, but I assume someone has already posted the information you need (details of the commands that differ from TV/0156) in some JP1 upgrade file, CCF file, LIRC file, advanced code list, or similar place.

Edit: I just noticed Edmund is further along the path of answering this in another forum where you asked:
