I'm thinking about replacing my zenith dvd/am/fm "HTIB" (one of the video inputs in the back doesnt work) and was wondering if anyone has any recommendations based on personal experience with a box they are happy with.

If possible, I am looking for a box that would play a dvd, have 5.1 sound or similar, am/fm (wife wants this), and be able to accept inputs from a cable tv box and a vcr. I am looking for something that has discrete power on/off and discrete input selection (built-in dvd/vcr/cable box). In other words, something that plays well with JP1. (I know toadtog exists and I have started reading about extenders but dont have the balls to install it yet which is stupid I know because the extender does everything I want. I am working on getting larger balls
