I got my hands on a Comcast 3 device remote, model URC-1058BG0. I did an hour or two of Googling and came up mostly dry. In HiFi remotes, there is a short discussion at ( http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=643&highlight=ueic+0103 ) from December of 2003. I get the same response from IR that the article mentions. Rob also mentions "no hope for the foreseeable future".
I was wondering if there is any new JP1 (JP1.1) hope for these remotes with combined uP and Flash memory chip (UEIC 0103). We have documentation on this chip so it seems just a matter of time before it is understood.
The Mfg's documentation in PDF here: http://www.hifi-remote.com/files/chip-manuals/SST-65P542R.pdf

The problem is this particular remote uses an SST brand flash chip, whereas all the new UEI remotes use a Motorola brand flash chip, so there's very little incentive to put in all the work that it would take to reverse engineer it, just for one remote. _________________ Rob
