I am looking for codes for the following TV.

Device: Panasonic PV-8661
Type of device: TV
Remote model: Sony RM-AV3100
JP1 user? No, but I might buy one if I can get the right code - I am doing research to see if this VCR will accept a specific remote code for channel recall (or flashback)
Still have original remote? Yes - that button is not on the remote
Checked Yahoo file section? Yes
Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? Yes

Thanks in advance for everything...

As I wrote in reply to your Samsung discrete power and input question, the existence or not of a particular code ought not drive your decision to "go JP1", as virtually ANY IR remote code can be reproduced by a JP1 remote - ocassionally this requires the help of some of the experts here - so IF THE CODE EXISTS, a JP1 remote can reproduce it. Whether it exists is a different question.

And JP1 remotes can do something that most other remotes cannot do, and that is they can simulate discrete codes where they don't exist. They can do this using a special utility called "ToadTog" which keeps track of what state your device is in.

Of course, you can easily fool it if you start turning devices on and off manually but hey, it's better than nothing.

Can you tell me more about ToadTod? or point me in a direction? There are actually remotes that keep track of what state certian functions are in? Like Power and Input? That is the solution to my problems. My TV and TVR do not have discrete codes for power or input - making me extremely frustrated.
