Are you looking for the code to program the R5k remote to work the Replay itself? Didn't it come pre-programmed to do that? There are two built in codes in this remote, 0614 and 1614. The one that's programmed at the factory is 1614.

Rob,
I was looking to program a universal remote to control the Replay. From your description that sounds like it should be it ...but it doesn't work.
Remote is a non-JP1 model for a digital cable box made by Zenith. It allows programming for other IR, although it only asks for a "3-digit" code.

The code I gave you is the one you would use to program the Replay remote itself (though as you can see, I was puzzled why you would need to).
You are in a JP1 forum. All the remotes here are made by UEI and sold under brand names like "One For All" and "Radio Shack" plus several OEM remotes (like your Replay remote).
We would have no idea what codes would be needed for non-UEI remotes like your Zenith, and we're such snobs here anyway that we think all other brands of universals are a load of crap anyway!
So, if you want a good universal to work your Replay, get an OFA model. Specifically, get the URC-6131 PVR remote. If you want a JP1 compatible version, get it from me as I sell modified URC-6131 remotes, and I can also sell you a cable.

The controller is a load of crap, but the Replay is for the parents and I was hoping to reduce their system shock. For them, change from the norm is a struggle and they were complaining about the Replay remote, even though it's a close mirror to the Zenith!
Anyway, I assumed the IR code was universal, but I guess not. Tried on planetreplay first, but struck out so that is why I asked here. Thanks anyway.

Each company that makes universal remotes uses their own set of codes.

If you don't need the Replay remote, I will buy it from you. Shoot me an email at jp1@filebug.com. Thanks!
