OFA 6131 Code for Govideo

I posted this message on the tivo community forum help board but thought I should also post this here.

I had purchased a Govideo DVD/VCR recorder at Costco and have been very happy with it. I also use the 6131 remote to control my tv, audio receiver, directtv, and tivo without any problems. However, I have not found the correct codes to work the Govideo unit until yesterday. I did a search for the code as described in the OFA manual and found a code that sort of worked. It's 1037. However, it is not fully functional. It does turn the unit on and off, pauses, fast forwards, stops either dvd's or tapes. As a minimum this is OK, better than using two remotes. However, I can't get an info screen or a menu using this remote. I've done a search here to try to get info but have been unsuccessful. However, I'm in a lot better shape than I was yesterday. I don't know if there were any other codes that might work as once I hit a workable code I stopped the code search.

Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone else had the 6131 and the govideo and were unable to program it. It would be great if I could get the remote to do more than fast forward and back, pause, stop, and play.

Setup code VCR/0037 is similar to VCR/1037, so you might get better results with 0037 than you got with 1037.

With either of them, you can use EFC KeyMoves to define any functions that aren't covered by the built-in setup code. I don't have the EFC numbers handy, but I think I have them on a computer I'll be at tomorrow.

Worst case, you could try all 256 EFC numbers and see what each does.

Other VCRs using VCR/0037 use the EFC numbers in the following list. I'm not sure the Govideo is the same, but they're worth trying:

We have files for 3 different Go Video DVD or DVD/VCR players here and they all use different codes, so I think you should also post the exact model number of your player.

There is a CCF file for the VR-3930 over at R/C but the strange thing is, it uses NEC1 device code 8.230 whereas VCR/1037 uses NEC1 device code 110. Plus, the codes for the 3 buttons you listed don't match the codes in the CCF.

So, I can only assume that Go Video added support for a different code set than the one used by the supplied remote, and that codeset partially matches VCR/1037.

If you are a JP1 user, I could create an upgrade based on the CCF file for you.

I have a modified 6131 which I purchased from you. I have just dabbled in programming it so would have to go back into the beginners forum to refresh my memory.

Anything you could do would be helpful.

Thanx Rob
