15-2116 being discontinued?

I was at radio shack today and the 15-2116 was on clearance (only $2 off). I asked the RS guy if they were discontinuing it and he said he figured so, or it wouldn't have "clearance" written on it. I bought one so I wouldn't have to search later.
Has anyone else heard this? Is the RS guy right?

I hadn't heard of it, but seeing as how RS wouldn't know a good thing if it hit them upside the head, it's not surprising that they would discontinue it.

I heard the same thing. I stop by RS about once or twice a month just to watch for deals on the 15-2116 and they had it marked down just like you said. The salesperson told me the same thing. He said RS was discontinuing it because it wasn't programmable enough.
I couldn't help myself, I had to give him the 5 minute education on the JP1 interface

Please, no one buy the 15-2116 remotes. Let's hold out until their
computer drops the price down to $10-$15.

The other day I was in my buddies store and had him check. Still active - code does not reflect DIS or DVL on the POS. Sorry...
