Newbie Question

What is a good remote to get started with? I have programmed and been using a URC-8080 for a year or so but from what I hear this is a rather older model that is not as versatile as some of the newer ones. What model do you recommend? How versatile is the Kameleon? Thanks in advance.

This question has many answers. It depends on personal preference and needs. If you will be controlling a PVR/DVR, the URC-6131M (Modified for JP1) is the best choice, although it is not a learning remote. 8 devices, but only 6 device buttons.
If you need learning, the URC-8811/8810w is a great choice, and is JP1 ready out of the box. 8 devices.
