1. Device: Delphi MobileNAV - http://shopdelphi.com/products/consumers/mobilenav/
2. Type of device: GPS Navigation - portable
3. Remote model: URC-8810
4. JP1 user? yes
5. Still have original remote? no - remote not supplied.
6. Checked Yahoo file section? yes
7. Checked Pronto file section (at R/C)? yes

The NAV system appears to have an IR receiver, but remotes aren't supplied by Delphi.

I didn't see anything on the Delphi site to indicate that the MobileNAV uses a remote control. I also downloaded the user manual and it didn't make any mention of it either, so my guess is that it's not remote controllable. However, we've never let doubt stand in the way before! :)

The upgrade for the SkiFi also works with the Roady, so why not give it a shot to see if it also works the MobileNAV. If some of the commands work, you can try all the available OBCs to see if you can find the rest of them.

The SkiFi and Roady use the RC-5 protocol (with a device code of 127). Generally, companies that use the RC-5 protocol seem to be more willing to share their IR codes than other companies (I have no idea why that is though), so it might be worth your while to give Delphi a call, or send them an email asking if the Mobile does indeed respond to IR signals, and if so, would they mind sharing them with you. Just in case the format they use to display the signals isn't obvious to us, ask them to also give you the SkiFi list so we can compare it to what we already have for that device.

Hi Rob.

Thanks for your quick response. I just dug around on the actual manufacturer's website (NavMan.com) to see if they offered a remote. They don't appear to.

That reddish plastic cover between "OK" and "Home" sure looks like it would have an IR receiver behind it.

I tried the Delphi XM receiver remote on it (just for kicks) with no luck.

Ah well.. it would have been nice to be able to use a remote.

Thanks for your help.
