JP1 Remotes

My 8810w running extender 3 has been acting up. When I pick it up it either works normally, or doesn't work at all. It doesn't work occassionally, averaging 1 or 2 times a day, but occassionally it works ok for 2-3 days. When it "breaks" it always does it on the first attempt after picking it up. When broke some keys will cause the LED to blink weakly or not at all. Keys with macros cause the led to blink noticeably weaker and for a much shorter time than normal. I have tried replacing batteries. I used the rest from the pack that the ones in the remote came from and when that didn't make any difference, I bought new ones. Those did not make any difference either. The extnder worked for over 6 months before this problem started and I haven't made any changes recently. I should add that to restore the operation, I remove a battery, press a key, reinstall the battery, and activate the extender. After that it may good until the next time I pick it up or for several hours.

When working all appears to be normal.

Any ideas or suggestions?

I would try the 981 reset and reloading the image.

Not sure if it applies to your case since your remote has been working last 6 months, but you might want to try adding some extra 'NOP's after the STOP (check out this thread) if the 981 reset doesn't work.

Awhile back I made a fix to the 6012 (8810) extender for what sounds like it may be this problem. Make sure you are running version 3_2.
