Hi all,

I'm new to this and have installed the EEPROM and 6 pin connector in my 6131. I've also built my interface cable and can down\up load to the remote perfectly.

My ? is can I make some buttons work as favorite chnls for my DirecTV Tivo?

Are you aware of the ability to define in your DirecTV TiVo what your favoriate channels are? If you then set your channel guide to show only your favorite channels, you can navigate directly to them through the guide or by using the CH+ and CH- keys.

The location of the setting for favorite channels in your TiVo is different for different versions of the TiVo software, but is in Messages & Setup.

On my HDVR2 running 6.2, it is at Messages & Setup -> Settings -> Channels -> Favorite Channels

You can change the settings for your guide by pressing Info while viewing the guide.

Yes,johnsfine, this is what I want to do. Such as 3-0-1 under a button and 2-5-4 under another,ETC.

I guess I didn't word my ? correctly. sorry for the confusion. I do have my favorite channels set up,as far as the guide is concerned.

DSM's are a lot simpler with an extender than without, though I'm pretty sure there is some form of DSM available for the 6131 even without an extender.

It shouldn't be very hard to find documentation and/or threads explaining it. But be careful to check that you're looking at recent documentation and/or threads. DSMs were a lot harder before IR.exe got specific support for them, so any documentation that doesn't show IR.exe doing most of the work for you is probably obsolete.

Hi,

I downloaded and installed the extender and after reading all the docs I now have several "favorite channel" buttons on my 6131.

I did it in the form of macros and used X_CANCEL for the delays. I just kept forgetting to press power to activate the extender though.
