JP1 Remotes

I have a URC8811 remote, and try to write an upgrade file from yahoo group, the file is pvr508. Now I copy the code from KM to IR that I pasted to the IR upgrade device popup window then click ok. I got this error msg. and don't know how to fix it. The error is "Invalid character input" So, please someone tell me to do this right, thanks in advance.

My guess is that you're either trying to copy a protocol into the upgrade tab, or an upgrade into the protocol tab.

You might not be selecting ALL of the upgrade text. The easiest way to do it in KM is to use the [Copy] button at the upper-left of the code block. If you manually select the text, you MUST include the lines that begin "Upgrade Code 0 =..." AND "End".

Also, make sure you're using the latest version of IR... versions before 5.01 do NOT support the embedded notes feature.

Thank you guys, you are very fast in responding. I now got it past to Ir properly without error, but some how it doesn't control my pvr so what is wrong with that? Here are some brief of what I did, I download the 508 upgrade file from yahoo group, and use the KM to load it. Select the type of my remote which is URC8811 then click copy the code from its button and past into Ir.exe device tap that popup when click add button. Now I wrote to my remote but it doesn't work at all, Please some one help me, I am very new to this Jp1 world. Thank you.
