IR error on download from URC-5550

Post by f-a »

Hi,

when I try to download the current settings of my URC-5550, IR gives me a selection Box where I choose the non-extender version.

Unfortunatly IR displays two errors then. The first is:
"Bad checksum at address $0700. Expected $55 $AA, but found $30 $CF"

The second is:
"There is a conflict at fixed data address $0012. Do you want to replace the existing data with the fixed data"

Here I have to choose between yes or no.

Why do I get these errors, is there a way to prevent them and if not, what should I answer to the second errorbox?

Thanks for your support.

I would recommend that you hit CANCEL when you're asked to select an RDF, then save the raw data file. Then do a full MFR RESET on the remote (accessible via the hidden Service Menu) and re-download. The saved file will allow you to restore your current settings if needed.

Just FYI, the section of memory that starts at $700 is used for Timed Macros.

Hi Rob,

I've managed to save the raw file, but have no clue how to enter the hidden service menu to do the MFR Reset. I hope you can help me here, too.

Thank you for the link. Unfortunatly neither 972 nor 961 is working for my remote, it always says "Not found". Any idea, whats wrong?
