If the goal is to completely do away with the yahoo groups concept, perhaps a devoted special subgroup toward this should be included here? I like the way there's several topic areas here, but I'm thinking RM development should have it's own speialized area, rather than jammed into "Advanced" which would likely be used for special protocols, extenders, and the like. It's possible that "threads" may develop where this may naturally occur within advanced anyway. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to adding a RM development subgroup.
Wow, nice no stupid popups and distracting and anoying yahoo ads pages going to a message.
If youcan't get the files moved over, maybe just post a link that would access the files at yahoo. while we may quit posting messages there, we could still use JUST the files area for storage

The development effort for RM is being hosted on SourceForge, and that supports forums and bug and feature tracking. Maybe we should move the RM development discussions there.
I haven't mentioned this before, for a number of reasons. Among these were (1) a desire to keep the format similar to what we are all used to with the JP1 group, and (2) the desire to keep the numer of logins and passwords to a minimum, and (3) a desire to keep the two groups (jp1 and jp1-km) as close together as possible.
Another more selfish reason was I didn't really want to take on the additional administrative responsibility, but that can be handled a number of different ways.
I haven't personally used the SourceForge forums, but they appear to be threaded. _________________ -- Greg

I had considered that and if Greg and John want such a forum, I'd be more than happy to set it up. I also thought about a dedicated forum for extenders and would also be willing to set that up if it's wanted. |
