JP1 Remotes

My first experience with JP1 was both satisfying and frustrating. While most everything went as expected I am struggling with this device. The closest code I could get from UEI was 1306, and while this includes about 2/3 of the needed functions, it is missing much (such as up,down left, right, select, surround modes, etc). I have learned the codes and uploaded to IR, but when entering them in KM and redownloading to remote none of them work.

Any help with a upgrade code for this device or why I can't enter the learned codes into KM and upload to remote is greatly appreciated.

That file doesn't contain any details. No devices are assigned on the General tab, there's no Device or Protocol upgrades loaded, and there aren't any learned signals. It appears to be what you get by doing a File, New in IR and then immediately saving it without making any changes

For starters, the learned signals are overriding the upgrade RCVR/1001 (learned signals take precedence). If you've created an upgrade and installed it to the remote, you should either delete the learned signals or use another device button for the upgrade.

Which device is the upgrade: RCVR/1001 or RCVR/1306? It would be helpful to see that file as well.

1001 is the upgrade code I started with (1306 was one UEI downloaded over the phone). I first learned the signals to the remote and then entered them in KM into this code. The learned signals where then deleted from the IR file, the device 1001 added, the KM data pasted in, and then uploaded to the remote.

It was only after I found out many of the buttons (I added in code 1001) did not work that I relearned the signals onto the remote. I did this so you could see the learned signals in IR. The posted IR file is a dump from the remote as it currently sits (with the relearned signals).

All the learned buttons use NEC1:130.114 except for the Sleep button which is using NEC1:128.112. Your upgrade is setup for NEC1:128.112 which explains why most of the functions don't work.

Change the Main Device to 130 and the Sub Device to 114, repaste the resulting upgrade code to to IR, upload to the remote, and test it out.

Be sure to delete the learned signals and then save the IR file under a new name (so you don't lose the learned info until you're sure the upgrade will work).

I have the H/K AVR8000. Give this file a try using RM(RemoteMaster). It's a H/K Combo Protocol ID wirh 2 different Device and SubDevice codes:

Protocol ID: HK Combo
Setup Code: 1110
Dev/SubDev #1: 128:112
Dev/SubDev #2: 130:114

I use this in my URC-9910. It works my Harman Kardon AVR8000. I even added the surround codes to the upgrade. Be sure to paste the Device Upgrade code and the Protocol Upgrade code from RM into IR. Hope this helps.

I tried this and while some of the previously learned buttons work, most of the others do not.

Wheelie4 is my savior as the RM file he posted do all but two functions (those two I can learn).

Don't know why H/K needs to make their remote codes so complex, but I am close to getting this solved.

Almost all of these functions work and I am thrilled with this file as it makes almost everything work.

The one bizarre thing I noticed with your code is that while the UP and DOWN keys worked in the CHANNEL and SPEAKER sub menus, they did not work in the OSD. Amazing!

For now I have learned those two keys (and am very happy), but I will try and add them to your code to see if the learned codes can be added to the RM file, in which case I wil post it as a DPR-1001 code.

That is odd. They work in my OSD. I'm glad to hear the other codes work ok for you though. Happy listening.
