Using extenders, understanding the keys

Post by robotron »

HI all. I have not been around in about 4 years - got my 1994 setup and stopped messing with it. All I can say is WOW!

Using a 15-1994. I downloaded remote contents into IR 5.10. I was using the plain 1994 RDF. I can see all the various extenders in he RDF zip (I loaded em all in a dir).

I wanted one with pushdev and popdev. I can see TV:1800 as a device in my current setup and a ref to it in keymoves with PnP SHIFT-REC. But no pushdev and popdev show up in the key list.

I can see those keys and a slew of others like V_device in some of the extended RDFs when I create a new setup.

I downloaded the uber-extender with all the protocols, etc. - 15-1994ex5_1.zip

1) Is there a way to change the RDF without having to redo my setup - tranfer my setup to a new device with the new RDF and all the new key features, then rework my macros?

2) Have people used the uber-extender - is it stable? Doc says it may have some bugs, etc.

3) Is there a better choice than the uberextender if all I want is the popdev/pushdev?
Thx, JS
